Klim Krios Pro Carbon Helmet

Description
Klim Krios Pro Product Description The Klim Krios Pro helmet is an adventure helmet derived from the original Klim Krios and is said to be the lightest adventure helmet on the market. Cut from Krios' hand-tooled full carbon fiber shell (K's according to Klim), the helmet works hard to protect your head. With its aerodynamic superiority and unbeatable acoustic and tactile comfort, the Krios Pro helmet turns every ride into the ultimate ADV experience. Because it's an ADV motorcycle helmet, you can fully customize the various features, including the visor and peak, to suit your riding needs. This means you can use the Krios Pro for street, adventure, mud, or trail riding, as the visor opening is large enough for goggles. Material The Klim helmet is made of high-performance carbon fiber construction, which is why it's so lightweight in a category where helmets tend to be heavy. This is often the case due to the helmet's off-road design and extra features like a large visor. But its light weight of around 1300g makes the Krios Pro helmet very practical when you leave the road. It is also both ECE and DOT certified and is available in two shell sizes. Ventilation For ventilation, the Klim Krios Pro off-road helmet has an adjustable vent on the chin and another on the forehead. Both are large and should let in plenty of air, although you can always switch to wearing goggles if you want to let even more air through the helmet. There are three outlets on the back, two on the sides and one on top under the spoiler. Visor The helmet visor has a good selection of features. The visor opening, as is common on adventure helmets, is large enough to wear goggles inside the helmet. The Klim Krios Pro helmet has a clear, Pinlock-compatible visor as standard, but the Pinlock lens is not included. Instead, you get a Transitions photochromic visor, which is great considering it's all included in the $500 price tag, and these visors alone cost around $150. Photochromic means the face shield automatically changes color depending on the amount of light. The visor can also be easily replaced without tools. Comfort The interior of the Krios Pro is where things get really interesting. The liner is Klim's Klimatek material, which is moisture-wicking and antibacterial. The Krios Pro uses a magnetic Fidlock chin strap to make it easy to close correctly. The helmet was designed to accommodate the Sena 10U system, even though there are no speaker cutouts. One interesting thing about the helmet's liner is that the Krios Pro uses Koroyd material and construction instead of the more common EPS liner. This liner basically looks like a series of straws, but it absorbs impacts better and more uniformly than EPS. But the other advantage this structure brings is that it is ultra-lightweight, better ventilated, and also absorbs angled impacts better. We've seen similar improvements in helmet safety from other off-road helmet manufacturers like Airoh with their AMSS system in their motocross helmets, although that was designed more to reduce energy from angled impacts than any overall energy. Summary The Klim Krios Pro manages to hold its own against its main competitors from Shoei and Arai. While Shoei and Arai offer some more premium features like more shell sizes and quality, Klim has produced a good helmet with some innovative features that definitely make it more than a regular ADV helmet.
